“What Is Death?”

This is a photo of myself with my father at my great grandfather’s funeral. Even though I didn’t know my great grandfather very well nor did I really know what death was, I could tell that there was something different in the air.

By unknown photographer

Wonder if a book of funeral photos has ever been done. This picture gets my vote to be included.

They sell everything at Costco!
In God’s Care Casket $1,299.99Shipping & Handling included (this model received 4 stars!)
But for every 4 star review, there’s a whiner:
Very disappointedPros: easy to order, efficient response and deliveryCons: product was inferior, product color does not match photo“First off the photo features what looks like a dark cherry wood exterior. What we actually received was almost a bright red wood. It was still beautiful and we accepted it. Then when it came time for the funeral, the funeral home advised us that the handles on both ends had broken off when they were positioning it with my Dad enclosed. Then when the pall bearers were loading it into the hearse, the side handles began to break making the handles obsolete. I have contacted Universal Caskets to advise of this defective item and we’ll see what they do to resolve the matter. Regardless, a very disturbing occurrence on an already very upsetting day.”

Calvin Toler's New Digs

Here’s to wishing him the best, as long as it’s on the coasts and not in the Midwest.

Interesting. To say the least.

In season 3 of Eastbound & Down, Kenny Powers moonlights in a funeral home while trying to catch on with a minor league affiliate in the Midwest. Genius.
